WWE has a big weekend ahead of them with the return of fans this weekend at SmackDown, Money In the Bank, and Monday Night Raw.
As previously noted, John Cena is locked in for a match with Roman Reigns at SummerSlam and many are expecting him back on WWE TV soon, perhaps as soon as this Friday night on SmackDown.
Apparently, WWE has more than one surprise planned for fans this weekend. WrestleVotes noted today that there are “cool and exciting” things planned and that fans should expect a “surprise or two.” There’s no word on what those surprises could be but most expect Becky Lynch to make her return soon. Other possibilities are Daniel Bryan and Brock Lesnar. In the case of Lesnar, the last word on him is that he has not signed a new deal and he is not figured in for SummerSlam but anything’s possible if Lesnar agrees with what creative lays out for him.
As far as Daniel Bryan goes, Bryan Alvarez reported last week that Bryan was removed from non-WWE projects so he may not have signed a new deal either but if he has reached a deal with WWE then it’s likely that it would be kept top secret and other departments would not be told anything because they would want to keep the news from leaking.
Goldberg would be another name that is possible since he has one more match left this year but with WWE planning on a return to Saudi Arabia, his return could be held off for that show.
This weekend will be interesting to watch, for sure.
