Rhea Ripley put her Raw Women’s Championship on the line against Charlotte Flair at the WWE Money In The Bank pay-per-view. The story going into the match was that Ripley’s left knee was still not 100 percent after being attacked by Flair on Raw a couple of weeks ago.
At the start of the match, Flair flipped off the fans when they chanted “we want Becky.” The chants for Lynch continued throughout the match but the announcers ignored them, probably because she is backstage.
Late in the match, Ripley tried a dropkick off the top but Flair caught her and put her in the Boston Crab but Ripley countered out, Flair tried toe figure four but Ripley countered out into a pin attempt. Flair hit a big boot to the face into a pin attempt. There was a great power spot from Ripley where she basically had Flair cradled in her arms and then she muscled her up into a standing suplex.
Ripley hit Flair with several chops to the chest but Flair sent Ripley across the ring and into the corner and Ripley went over the top rope. Flair hit a moonsault from the top rope onto Ripley outside of the ring. Ripley slipped out of the Natural Selection and she put Flair in a leg submission. Flair countered into a roll up and pin attempt. Ripley tried the rip tide but Flair countered into a DDT and a close near fall.
Flair hit chops and a back elbow and then went to pin Ripley but the referee saw Flair’s up on the ropes. Ripley rocked Flair with a kick to the face and shoulders into the stomach. Ripley tried a move off the top but Flair shoved her off and Flair hit the Natural Selection off the top but Ripley kicked out of the pin attempt. Flair shoved Ripley’s head into the ringpost and then she kicked Ripley’s left knee several times into the stairs. Flair then locked in the figure eight and that was enough for Ripley to tap out.
