WWE gave fans a behind the scenes look at Finn Balor’s return to the main roster on last week’s episode of SmackDown.
The former Universal Champion did so when he interrupted Sami Zayn on the show. Zayn tried to attack him but Balor countered and hit the coup de grace. On Friday’s episode, Balor not only beat Zayn, but also issued a challenge to Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
In late 2019, the decision was made to have Balor make a return to NXT. He managed to work his way up to the main event scene and became the NXT Champion for a second time.
Balor lost the NXT Title after a lengthy title reign to Karrion Kross at NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver then dropped a loss in the rematch on a May episode of NXT.
