Hiroshi Tanahashi appeared in a pre-taped segment on AEW Dynamite this week.
Tanahashi said that he has never been the IWGP United States Championship and he will be challenging the winner of tonight’s title match between Lance Archer and Hikuleo.
It was not said if the match will happen on a future episode of Dynamite or at the AEW All out pay-per-view.
UPDATE: Lance Archer retained his title and he will travel to New Japan Pro Wrestling for his title defense.
