WWE hasn’t offered Adam Cole a new long-term contract yet

Adam Cole’s contract with WWE expires shortly after SummerSlam later this month.

His original deal expired after the Great American Bash show, but he signed an extension to stay under contract through August. When WWE realized that Cole’s deal was slated to expire in a few weeks, it reportedly caught some executives by surprise.

Fightful Select reported today that many within WWE and Cole himself had hoped to keep the situation quiet and it seemed there was an understanding that it’d be kept close to the vest.

There were some within the company that felt the possible expiry of the deal should be publicized due to the competitive nature of the wrestling business right now. By the end of July, word quickly spread that Cole’s existing extension was set to run through Summerslam

It was added that Cole has not formally been offered a new contract by WWE just yet. However, they were told, “it’s obviously planned.”
