WWE SummerSlam still on track for Las Vegas, no plans to move back to the ThunderDome

WWE is just a few weeks away from holding the SummerSlam pay-per-view event on Saturday, August 21 2021 in Las Vegas, Nevada at Allegiant Stadium.

There had been some rumors that WWE could move the show due to the delta variant of the COVID-19 virus with it taking place in the ThunderDome without live fans. There’s also an indoor mask mandate for 12 counties in the state of Nevada including Clark County which is where Allegiant Stadium, an indoor domed facility, is located.

However, WrestleVotes reported today that the show is still being planned to take place at the home of the Las Vegas Raiders.

“Source says SummerSlam happening at Allegiant Stadium is still the plan, with the event being just 2 weeks out. WWE has had conversations with the city and venue, and as of this very moment, all things remain on track.”

Some of the matches already announced for SummerSlam include WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns vs. John Cena, WWE Champion Bobby Lashley vs. Goldberg, and WWE Raw Women’s Champion Nikki A.S.H vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley.
