Triple H and Shawn Michaels were not told about WWE NXT releases ahead of time

As noted several days ago, Triple H and Shawn Michaels did not have say in who would be released from WWE NXT last Friday. There are some more details on the story in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Dave Meltzer is reporting that it was Vince McMahon, Bruce Prichard, and John Laurinaitis who decided on who would be released and there is definitely a behind-the-scenes struggle since Michaels and Levesque were high on some of the names that were let go.

Bronson Reed, for example, was the North American Champion just a few weeks ago and had recently wrestled on some dark matches before SmackDown when they were still in the ThunderDome. The feeling on Reed was that he was ready to debut on the main roster.

Meltzer noted that Triple H and Michaels were not aware of the cuts until Laurinaitis starting making the calls to inform the talent.
