The betting odds are out for one of the biggest wrestling shows of the year, WWE SummerSlam in Las Vegas.
According to Sports Betting Dime, Roman Reigns is a heavy favorite to retain the Universal Championship over John Cena and Bobby Lashley is heavily favored to retain the WWE Championship against Goldberg.
Cena is leaving soon to film a movie and SummerSlam will be his final pay-per-view with the company this year. However, Cena is scheduled to appear at Friday Night SmackDown in Madison Square Garden next month so there’s a small possibility that WWE will want to swerve the fans and have him win it on Saturday and then lose it back to Reigns on SmackDown. As of now, the oddsmakers say Reigns is likely retaining.
Goldberg’s contract calls for two matches per year and he’s not expected to go on the road so it’s likely that Lashley will retain the title.
As of this writing, Bianca Belair is favored to retain over Sasha Banks but there has been talk backstage that the match may get postponed. Banks and Belair did not appear at live events over the weekend due to what WWE says are “unforeseen circumstances.” An announcement on that match will likely be made this Friday night on SmackDown.
