There’s been a lot of speculation about Ric Flair’s future in the pro wrestling business after he departed from WWE following a disagreement with Vince McMahon.
It’s been reported that Flair is expected to join AEW as his soon-to-be son-in-law, Andrade El Idolo, is already under contract with the promotion. In fact, Andrade had Flair in his corner when he wrestled Kenny Omega for the AAA Mega Title at AAA Triplemania XXIX from Arena Ciudad de Mexico on Saturday night. Flair got physical in the match and has been teasing working another bout on social media.
Sting and Flair had a legendary rivalry in WCW, which aired on TNT just like AEW. With Flair potentially coming in and Sting already being paired with Darby Allin, there is a possibility of the legends facing off in a match once again.
This is something Allin was asked about and even seemed to tease it in an interview with Metro UK.
“Yeah, that’d be fun! Anything is possible, I feel. You’ve just gotta be patient and see what goes down, and where the wind takes you.”
Allin and Sting will wrestle 2.0 in a Texas Tornado Match on tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite, which will mark Sting’s first match on TNT in 20 years.
