WWE Superstar R-Truth commented posted a comment today under an audio clip from 2014 of CM Punk on Colt Cabana’s podcast. Punk was telling the story of his run in WWE and why he was unhappy during his final years with them.
Punk talked about selling more shirts than John Cena and then being turned heel and then being booked to work with someone who was dangerous in the ring. Towards the end, Punk mentioned that Daniel Bryan should have been figured into the WrestleMania main event plans, and when he (Punk) was hot, he was fed to Triple H and he was booked to lose to The Miz and R-Truth and it didn’t make business sense at the time.
Under the 2014 clip, R-Truth said this today:
“CM Punk you lost to me and Miz cause we were HOTTER than you sorry, and I neva thought you were impressive at all, just typical entitlement.”
While many wrestlers in all companies are happy to see Punk back in pro wrestling with AEW, it seems like there are some unhealed wounds among some of the people he’s worked with. Punk noted last Friday on AEW Rampage that some of his decisions (and presumably some of the things he has said in the past) were said because he was in a bad place after being made “sick” by the company he used to work for.
