News on how much time Chris Jericho has left on his AEW contract

Chris Jericho was the biggest name to join the inaugural AEW roster when the promotion first launched in 2019 before holding a single event or even getting a television deal. Jericho was also the first-ever AEW World Heavyweight Champion.

Jericho will wrestle MJF at the upcoming All Out pay-per-view event on September 5th with the stipulation that Jericho’s career will be over should he not win the bout.

During today’s episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, a fan asked Dave Meltzer about Jericho’s AEW contract status as he has a three-year deal and it’s coming due this fall. Meltzer noted that while Jericho did sign a three-year deal, he has a one-year option on it.

“There’s a one-year option. So in a sense, it’s up at the end of next year. So a year and a half left.”

Jericho and MJF have been feuding for months including Jericho just dropping a loss to MJF on the August 18th edition of Dynamite.
