Damian Priest says he still goes to the CWC on his days off

New United States Champion Damian Priest was interviewed on “After The Bell with Corey Graves.”

Priest talked about his big win at SummerSlam, what he has learned from The Miz and John Morrison, his continued growth as a WWE Superstar, and more.

Priest said he still goes back to the CWC in NXT on his days off:

“Damian Priest isn’t a success on Monday Night Raw if it wasn’t for NXT, plain and simple. The bonds that I’ve built there, the feeling I get when I walk into that place, it’s a feeling of success. I love to walk in there, and it’s an aura that’s just incredible. Obviously, I love going there to support. I love going there to watch. I still try to learn as much as I can. I get to pick Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and Matt Bloom’s brains, and the rest of the coaches as well, and producers that are there. I love going there for that, the atmosphere, the friendships, and still that learning experience. I love this business. I have no issue being around this business at all times. I know some guys and girls are like, after so many years, it’s good to take a break, and I get it. I guess I’m just not there yet. I love being around this business as much as I can.”

Priest said that he tries to implement any critique he gets immediately into his next match or promo:

“For me, it’s how do you stay positive? How do you look at the bright side of things and keep moving forward? As long as you do that, I honestly believe that there’s no way you’re going to fail if you just stay positive, just focus on the positive, and keep trying to improve every time. Any critique, improve on it. I’ve made that an actual must thing to do. After every match, every promo, or any type of performance, whatever critique I get from a producer, Vince himself, or even my peers, the next match or segment, I will literally try to implement that critique and try to work on it to make it better. I will then go to that same person and say, ‘How was that? Was that closer?’ I literally make it a focus. Here’s the advice. Focus on actually improving every single time on at least one thing.”
