WWE informs employees that Adam Cole is no longer with the company

Adam Cole is now officially considered to be done with WWE.

PWInsider reports that a memo was sent out via email to let employees know that he is no longer with the company. These types of emails are sent out to make sure the different departments are in sync. So, for example, the web department will know not to include him on any website material or on social media posts. Cole is currently listed as an active Superstar on the WWE.com roster page but that is expected to change soon.

As previously noted, Cole officially became a free agent after Friday and he is free to negotiate with any other wrestling company. Vince McMahon wanted him to stay and met with him backstage before SmackDown a few weeks ago. Although it was said that the meeting went well, Cole opted not to sign a new deal. Last week, he removed the WWE Shop link to his merchandise. The remaining Adam Cole merchandise on Shop.WWE.com is listed at 25 percent off as of this writing.

All Elite Wrestling appears to be his likely landing spot. Since his WWE contract expired, there is no non-compete and he can show up on AEW TV as soon as this week. AEW will be in Chicago this week for Dynamite on Wednesday, Rampage on Friday, and All Out on Sunday so he could, in theory, show up on any of those shows.

However, it’s worth noting that AEW has at least one big surprise lined up for All Out so if Cole signs with them, they could hold off on his debut for a few weeks. For those of you that missed it, click here for spoiler news on the big surprise currently scheduled for All Out.
