NJPW is extending its biggest event of the year, Wrestle Kingdom, by making it a three-night show.
The 16th installment of the event will take place on January 4, January 5, and January 8, 2022. The promotion announced the news on Saturday morning.
The first two nights will be held in the Tokyo Dome while the third and final night takes place at the Yokohama Arena.
Since 2014, New Year Dash has been held the day after Wrestle Kingdom. Many fans consider this to be NJPW’s version of the Raw after WrestleMania as it was a hard ticket to get and started new storylines.
NJPW traditionally held Wrestle Kingdom as a one-night show, but that changed to a two-night event in 2020.
