Bruce Prichard explains why he has not been backstage at recent WWE shows

Bruce Prichard has addressed the reports regarding the reason that he had been absent from recent WWE shows as it was previously reported in late December that the WWE Executive had been dealing with a health issue and later clarified as an illness.

This was around the time that WWE taped the Christmas Eve edition of SmackDown in advance before airing a year in review special instead of a live SmackDown show on New Year’s Eve, and the company dealt with a COVID-19 outbreak.

During a recent edition of his Something to Wrestle podcast, Prichard explained that he had taken a vacation during the break of no live SmackDown shows and then he got the flu.

Prichard stated, “To address some of the rumor and innuendo, which is complete horsesh** out there in the wrestling media if you will. This year, I took a vacation at a time when we did not have two SmackDowns in a row. We pre-recorded, and we had a count show. So there was no TV to go to in general. So I had my vacation tied up during that time where it looked like, ‘Hey, man, Bruce hasn’t been in here in like, oh my god! Three TVs!’ And then I contracted the flu. I was running a fever and not feeling well. We have a solid team and an incredible sports system and team that was there. I missed three TVs.”

Prichard was reportedly back at work for this past Sunday’s Day 1 event and this week’s Monday Night Raw.
