WWE Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura hasn’t wrestled a match in nearly a month and turns out the reason for that is due to an injury.
Nakamura’s last singles match was against Damian Priest on the Survivor Series kickoff show before he worked a tag team match on the December 10 episode of WWE SmackDown and then another tag bout on the December 18th house show in Rockford, Illinois.
Nakamura was supposed to defend the WWE Intercontinental Title against Sami Zayn at the Day 1 PPV event earlier this month and while the company announced it for the show, the match was pulled the day of with no explanation.
Speaking to Ryan Satin on Out of Character, Rick Boogs stated Nakamura isn’t medically cleared right now due to a hand injury.
“We’ve only had a couple of tag matches together and he suffered a hand injury that has kept him out for close to two months now, it seems like. So I’m looking forward to him being healthy and cleared so we can kick some tail.”
