Latest on Drew McIntyre’s return from injury

Drew McIntyre hasn’t been seen on television since the WWE Day 1 event where he beat Madcap Moss in a singles match only to be written off following an attack angle from Moss and Baron Corbin.

He’s dealing with a neck injury that the former WWE Champion has been working through. He did undergo medical testing on his neck at the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, a facility where WWE talent has had surgeries in the past.

Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that McIntyre is expected to miss Royal Rumble on January 29. However, the current expectation is that the former WWE Champion will return ahead of WrestleMania 38 on April 2-3.

Before McIntyre was sidelined with the injury, WWE was planning for him to be the next contender for Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
