Tony Khan appeared on “Busted Open” this afternoon where he credited the fans for so many AEW winning PWI awards.
“The reason the awards went AEW’s way was because of the wrestling fans. The Pro Wrestling Illustrated subscribers, the fans who read the magazine voted for AEW in these award categories. That’s the reason,” Khan said.
“Just like we have these great TV ratings, it’s because of the fans. I can’t thank everybody who supports pro wrestling enough.”
“It means the world to us to get these awards, but really just to be competing, to have a wrestling show, and to have these opportunities is a dream come true. Then to have it being so successful and have so many great matches in the last year. Then really for me, you name some of the big awards we took home, the match of the year, the wrestler of the year, most popular, comeback of the year, looking at it really close, it all comes back to the fans. I’m so grateful for them.”
