Jeff Jarrett about Effy: “He is the most marketable talent on the Game Changer roster. He connects with the audience.”

On this week’s “My World” with Jeff Jarrett, Jarrett discussed his recent appearance on WWE Smackdown, as well as his match against GCW’s Effy.

Jeff Jarrett talking about his recent appearance on WWE SmackDown:

When asked about how his Smackdown appearance came about, Jarrett shared, “All of a sudden, it was kind of a last minute deal. They asked if I would come down.”

“My old buddy Shinsuke, I got to be in a little deal with him and (Rick) Boogs. We reminisced, me and Rick, about the last time we actually chatted because we’re both pickers. We both play the guitar, so we were chatting about that, but that was fun.”

“I got to reconnect with a lot of folks. It was great to see so many folks. A lot of changes. It goes without saying a lot of changes in every department in WWE across the board, so there were some folks that were no longer with the company that I found out about. Change is good. At the very top of the list, for success you have to have change and turnover.”

“It’s an unfortunate incident, but life happens. It was great to reconnect in so many ways. It was fun to do the pre-tape,” Jarrett wrapped up with.

Jeff Jarrett talking about his match against Effy at Game Changer Wrestling:

“Never in wildest dreams did I think that maybe the hottest babyface on the independent scene, certainly I believe Game Changer who has somewhat of a stigma with the death match, just as their branding they are so much more than that, but Effy coming to the ring to Elton John’s ‘Goodbye Yellow Brick Road’, everybody in the building was standing and singing,” Jarrett laughed.

“I thought about it going in last night, but he is the most marketable talent on the Game Changer roster. He connects with the audience. He’s not a seasoned vet, and I don’t know his complete body of work, but he knows what he’s doing in the ring. He knows how to connect with the audience. I can’t tell you how impressed from a promoter, booker, and marketer point of view I am from that side of it.”

In addition to his Smackdown appearance and his match against Effy, Jarrett uses this episode to revisit the 1995 Royal Rumble from January 22, 1995 at the USF Sun Dome in Tampa, FL and his Madison Square Garden debut against Razor Ramon.
