Mustafa Ali is not the only WWE star who wants to be released from his contract.
PWInsider reports that Brian Kendrick has also asked for his release from the company. Kendrick was brought back a few years ago after a great showing in the Cruiserweight Classic. He was one of the names brought up to Raw when they tried to reboot the Cruiserweight division but he was then ultimately slotted on the 205 Live show. Kendrick eventually settled into a producer role.
Kendrick hasn’t been at the TV tapings in Orlando for weeks and PWI noted that he’s been waiting on his release for six weeks.
His last match in WWE was on 205 Live back in October. Kendrick broke into the business after being trained by Shawn Michaels.
As noted last week, WWE is not looking to grant Ali’s request right now so Kendrick may be in the same situation where he will have to wait things out until his contract expires.
