Former WWE star Ken Anderson accused of scamming his wrestling students

Students of Ken Anderson’s wrestling school, “The Academy: School of Professional Wrestling,” in Minneapolis, MN have accused him of unprofessional business practices.

A Reddit user claimed in a post on Sunday to be a student of the school and stated the school has been closed for “quite some time now.” It was alleged the students enrolled in the school for nearly two years have yet to receive any semblance of training including “remote homework like tape study, character development or promos.”

The user also mentioned the school’s website was deactivated a while ago. The person claimed the former WWE/Impact star has “gone silent and his only update every 2-3 months is that they’re in talks with a realtor for a new facility but no real progress comes out of it.”

Another user commented on the post by sharing his experiences with Anderson’s school. This person claimed he signed up for a 30-minute free consultation, only to show up to an empty warehouse at the time of the scheduled appointment.

Bodyslam.net reported that although some students are still hopeful that the school will reopen, one student has given up hope and pointed out  how the reopening of the school has been postponed several times over the last 18 months since they paid for the program. He also corroborated claims by users in the Reddit thread regarding Anderson’s school has yet to issue refunds.

The student shared several reasons the school gave him regarding not receiving training such as the outbreak of the COVID-19 Delta variant and lack of a building to train in. This student came to the decision about six months ago the situation seemed “super sketchy based on the lack of communication.” Their communication with Anderson himself was very minimal and cited brief conversations via text messages. The student issued the following statement to the outlet:

“In no way am I making any claims on Ken’s personal character as I’ve had minimal contact with the man, but I believe his business practices and professionalism speaks for themselves. I’m personally not out to ruin anyone’s career but simply trying to hold others accountable for their actions as well as preventing others from making the same mistakes I did. The money I’m out may not seem like a lot to some but it was my entire savings as well as my dreams, and at the end of the day, that’s all I really want back. My dream is crushed but hopefully, I can get my money back.”

Anderson has yet to respond to the allegations although Anderson’s wrestling school did post the following on December 18th:

Anderson’s wrestling school has trained wrestlers such as Dante & Darius Martin of AEW. In the past, Molly Holly, Shawn Daivari, and Arik Cannon have worked as trainers at the school:
