Shane McMahon reportedly sent home by WWE

Coming out of this year’s WWE Royal Rumble event there was a lot of unhappiness among WWE talent as he was the producer of the Men’s Royal Rumble match and reportedly wanted to book the match around himself.

The son of Vince McMahon received a lot of heat as a result, but as of a few days ago, WWE had plans for McMahon to return as a regular TV character, work the Elimination Chamber WWE Title match, and have a program at WrestleMania.

However, Ringside News reports that a tenured member of the creative team said the writers were told in a “semi-quiet way” that “there will be no more creative discussions about Shane McMahon.” They have now “moved on to other creative discussions.”

A source stated that “Vince had no choice. Shane created chaos, had everyone in an uproar, pissed off everyone in the Rumble, openly buried other producers, and was changing things that Vince wanted. Vince had no other choice but to send him home.”

The term “blackballed” has not been used, but Vince McMahon is “quietly” using the term “let go” to describe the situation.

As a result, original plans for McMahon have been scrapped. McMahon has not been an employee of WWE since he left in 2009. When he returned in 2016, he was only used as on-screen talent.
