WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman kicked off tonight’s Friday Night SmackDown from Oklahoma City.
Heyman said that what went down at the Royal Rumble was not a plot and what he said about protecting Reigns from Brock Lesnar was what he really felt and he took a Superman punch for it and it was deserved. Heyman recapped the events that led to Lesnar winning the WWE Championship and losing it at the Rumble and he said that Lesnar now looks like a “schmuck.”
Heyman acknowledged that he “screwed up” with the Tribal Chief but a GOAT (Reigns) can always slay a beast. Heyman promised that fans would never hear his “reigning undisputed” intro for Lesnar again because he understands now that he needed to protect Brock Lesnar from Roman Reigns. Heyman also said that Reigns offered him the hand of love, forgiveness, family and the blood line, and the hand of acknowledgment.
There was an interesting line in the promo where Heyman said that Lesnar will not get his title vs. title match at WrestleMania. The title vs. title match has been teased in promos over the last couple of weeks.
Goldberg’s music played and he walked out to the ring. Goldberg said he acknowledges Reigns as his next victim. Goldberg said he wants the match with Reigns at Elimination Chamber and “you’re next!”
