Reason why Tyson Kidd has not been backstage at recent WWE shows

Tyson Kidd, real name TJ Wilson, is beloved by the female talent in WWE due to his dedication and help as a producer for the majority of women’s matches presented by the company.

As previously reported, many wrestlers were upset that Wilson wasn’t backstage to produce the women’s Royal Rumble match and some refused to work the bout as a result. Kidd has not been producing matches as of late and there was a belief within WWE that Wilson was frustrated while others thought he was just burned out and took time off.

Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that there was a miscommunication regarding Wilson’s status as the rumors of him quitting the company are false. Instead, he’s on good terms with the company.

The reason Wilson has been away from work is due to him taking time off to help heal up his neck. Wilson suffered what could’ve been a catastrophic spinal cord injury during a dark match in 2015 when taking the Muscle Buster from Samoa Joe. It was said that “the fact he’s able to function well doesn’t change that his neck is in terrible shape and can flare up.”

Wilson’s last night producing for WWE came on the January 14th SmackDown.
