Alan “5” Angels’ has seemingly finished up with All Elite Wrestling as his contract recently expired.
A Reddit thread pointed out that Angels had removed all references to AEW in his Twitter profile and made his profile image all black. F4Wonline’s Bryan Alvarez confirmed that his contract did expire, but he is expected to work in AEW on a per-date deal.
Angels sent out a tweet on Monday night noting: “Excited for what’s next.”
Fellow Dark Order member, Stu Grayson, could not come to terms on a new deal earlier this year with AEW and departed from the promotion. As of this writing, it’s unclear whether Angels had negotiations with the promotion for a new full-time deal.
Angels made his promotional debut in early 2020 during a set of TV tapings. He had his first match against Kenny Omega, who gave him a lot of offense in the match, which drew criticism from some fans because Angels was an unknown wrestler beating down a top star. He joined the Dark Order group in May and remained with them until the end where he wore a mask for the majority of the time.
His last AEW match was at the most recent Dark TV tapings at Universal Studios against Daniel Garcia that has yet to air.
Angels made his NJPW Strong debut in the Openweight Tag Team Title tournament along with Dark Order member Evil Uno.
