Sonny Kiss comments on QT Marshall, says Cody Rhodes was a big supporter and inspiration in AEW

As noted earlier, Steve Fall conducted an exclusive interview with Sonny Kiss for WrestlingNews.co. The entire interview is at the bottom of this article and it includes Kiss talking about her time in AEW, the Joey Janela storyline, Cody Rhodes, interactions with CM Punk, and tons more.

On Cody Rhodes being an inspiration:

“Cody was definitely a huge source of inspiration. He definitely kind of took me under his wing. Thunder Rosa was the coach and mentor for the women, but we would train with him before every Dynamite. We had training and practice every week with him. So for the past four years, I have been blessed to be able to be under that man’s learning tree.”

Kiss also revealed that Cody was a big supporter of her team with Joey Janela:

“Cody was very much behind the tag team of Joey and I. Cody was very much like, ‘We’re going to send you guys to Atlanta to shoot this fun vignette. I kind of heard that they didn’t really like it. I thought it was awesome, but I don’t know if they actually didn’t like it or not. I didn’t hear that out of Tony’s mouth or anyone’s mouth, but I thought it was really fun. I think it was something different.”

Thoughts on QT Marshall, who announced on Monday that he was going to be leaving AEW at the end of the year:

“QT Marshall, people don’t give him enough credit. QT has such a mind for the business and he has always been an advocate for us just being great wrestlers. He’s always kind of like, stepped in and kind of gave us a way to, try it like this or do it like this kind of person. He’s always been very hands on with that.”
