Billy Corgan: There’s Lots of Speculation That’s Not True, But We Have Two TV Deals With a Top 20 Network

Billy Corgan is sticking to the claim that despite any speculation, the NWA still has a TV deal with a top 20 network.

The promotion reportedly signed a pair of deals with The CW Network to see NWA Power and a reality show about the promotion air on the station before it was announced that WWE NXT would move to the CW in 2024. A controversial moment during the NWA Samhain pay-per-view reportedly put the NWA’s TV deal with The CW Network in jeopardy as the show could air on The CW app instead.

At the end of his interview on 102.5 The Bone’s Drew Garabo Live, Corgan spoke about how the NWA is a television content producer as that is how you reach the most people before standing by that the NWA has a television deal.

“TV deals are at the core of it, and there’s been a ton of speculation lately. I stand by what I said: we have two TV deals with a top 20 network. That’s all I can say for now. There’s lots of speculation that’s not true, but I can stand here and say, hand on heart, that is absolutely true,” Corgan stated.

Corgan was also asked about how he feels about former NWA World Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis working as the SmackDown GM despite how their relationship ended.

“Well, in that particular case, he left under a kind of a cloud. So it’s hard for me to feel as happy as I would like to because, with any situation where you part ways with somebody who’s not completely happy and then goes out and talks about not being happy, it’s hard to kind of root for them. But that said, very talented guy. Not surprised that he’s landed at a higher level. And I can only wish him the best,” Corgan stated.
