Bryan Danielson Suffered Broken Orbital Bone While Doing a Basic Move

More details continue to come out regarding the injury that put Bryan Danielson on the sidelines.

Danielson suffered a broken orbital bone with the initial belief and storyline that he suffered it while working a tag team match with Claudio Castagnoli against Orange Cassidy and Kazuchika Okada on last week’s Dynamite.

The injury happened when he clashed heads with Andrade in a recent match. However, there have been conflicting reports about exactly when the injury happened in the match until now.

Tony Schiavone confirmed during the AEW Control Center that Danielson has undergone surgery for the broken orbital bone and is out “until later in the year.”

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported that the way the injury was sustained was a rarity as he sustained the injury very early in the Andrade match on Collision.

The report noted, “Danielson told several that he actually happened on the opening collar and elbow tie up when Danielson caught an errant forearm or elbow. You can actually see him react to it during the match.”

We wish Danielson a speedy recovery.
