Ric Flair: I don’t know what they didn’t like about my WWE HOF speech, 99% of the people that attended don’t even know who Muta is

Ric Flair’s thoughts on the Charlotte Flair vs Rhea Ripley match at WrestleMania 39:

“They had the best match at WrestleMania. Let’s get serious. If I showed you the people that text me, and I’ll never violate their privacy, that they sent about Charlotte and Rhea, you’d be amazed, and these are people that know, not people that speculate.”

On how Charlotte is feeling after falling on her head and skinning her nose in that match:

“She’s fine. She’s got a bruise on her nose and a black eye, but between that and that slugfest they had in the middle towards the end, it was great. My hat’s off to Rhea Ripley. She let Ashley hit her as hard as I used to hit Steamboat. That’s what makes it real as opposed to Seth Rollins and Logan Paul laying on their back side by side and slapping each other in the chest. Come on. They’re both better than that. That looked bad compared to Ashley chopping Rhea. Come on. Let’s get serious.”

On Austin Theory beating John Cena:

“Well, you know how I feel about John. He has not only been one of the great performers, but he’s one of the greatest guys that ever worked with that company. He’s all business, he’s all company, and he takes time to visit with the kids. I think it’s a great opportunity for Theory to really build off that win if they give the opportunity to him. He’s a really nice kid, too.”

Flair thinks Charlotte vs Rhea Ripley should have went on last at WrestleMania:

“There’s no way that Sami and K.O. and The Usos go on after Ashley and Rhea. No way. Only in WWE.”

When Conrad said he felt The Usos vs Sami & Owens had the better storyline, Flair said, “That’s not the point. We’re talking about a singles championship from a girl that won the Royal Rumble. Why are we breaking tradition for one night?”

On some people criticizing Ric Flair’s Hall of Fame induction speech for The Great Muta:

“I don’t know what they didn’t like about it. You have to remember that 99% of the people that attended that building don’t even know who Muta is. The wrestling people do, but I’m saying the audience. Anytime you compare someone to Ricky Steamboat and Shawn Michaels, I don’t see how they can complain about that because he was that good, or say he was the first guy to do the moonsault on TV. I didn’t hear it from anybody in the WWE, but that’s not unusual. I did hear they didn’t like me bringing up Sting, but Sting’s in our Hall of Fame. I merely asked the question, ‘Are you sure that Muta wants me over Sting.’ That’s all I said. If you can’t speak the truth without being criticized. I thought that was a very fair question on my part because he actually wrestled more than I did with Muta.’
