During Friday’s episode of WWE SmackDown, Triple H made another appearance to address the fans, days after appearing on Monday Night Raw following WrestleMania 39, where he touted the success of the event.
Triple H once again touted the financial success of WrestleMania and it breaking records before making a big announcement. “The Game” stated that WrestleMania was in the rearview and it was time to look towards the future. He said that the Draft would be taking place in a few weeks. He hyped it as being the biggest ever and mentioned every star in the promotion would be eligible to take part.
The WRKD Wrestling Twitter account reports the Draft is slated to take place on May 8th from Jacksonville, Florida.
The date makes sense as it takes place two nights after the next premium live event, Backlash, on May 6th from Puerto Rico, and before the Saudi Arabia PLE event, King and Queen of the Ring, later that month.
In recent years, WWE has held the Draft over the course of two nights. If that trend continues, the second night will happen on the May 12 SmackDown episode from Knoxville, TN.
