“WWE: Recruits” docuseries to air on Roku Channel, John Cena to produce

WWE has a new docuseries in the works after partnering with the Roku Channel.

Deadline and the Hollywood Reporter have stories about the platform greenlighting the docuseries “WWE: Recruits,” which will follow wrestlers on their journey to become WWE Superstars.

It will come from WWE and American Ninja Warrior producer A. Smith & Co. Productions. John Cena, Arthur Smith, Frank Sinton, Ian Mallahan, and Dan Baime will serve as executive producers.

The series was filming content over WrestleMania 39. Here is the official synopsis for it:

“The eight-part docuseries follows the grueling training, personal triumphs, and life-changing moments of talented young men and women making their professional wrestling dreams a reality. Thousands of pro wrestling hopefuls will be narrowed down to an elite group of candidates going for the opportunity of a lifetime.”

Cena will appear on the series alongside Triple H, Big E, Shawn Michael Bianca Belair, and Ric Flair.
