WWE may not grant the release of two NXT stars

Although Jagger Reid and Rip Fowler are looking to be let out of their WWE deals after the former Grizzled Young Veterans reportedly requested their release from the company, WWE has yet to grant them their wish.

It was reported on Monday afternoon by Dave Meltzer that WWE had granted their release, but that is not the case for now.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer noted they remain with the company, and the release is up in the air.

“Well, that’s up in the air now. They were telling people that they got the release,” Meltzer stated. “I actually heard from someone this morning in WWE and it was, ‘Yeah, they’re gone’, and then later in the day, it was like, ‘I don’t think they got the release’. So, they told people they didn’t, but I got the impression that is not necessarily the case.”

Meltzer added that it would become more clear in the coming days.

The former Zack Gibson and James Drake, alongside Ava and Joe Gacy, lost in an eight-person tag team match to Andre Chase, Duke Hudson, Thea Hail, and Tyler Bate at Saturday’s WWE NXT Stand & Deliver event.
