Two WWE NXT stars released

Update: Dave Meltzer of F4Wonline.com has confirmed that WWE has granted Reid and Fowler their release.

Original: Jagger Reid and Rip Fowler are looking to be let out of their WWE deals. The former Grizzled Young Veterans have reportedly requested their release from WWE.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported the news today. The former Zack Gibson and James Drake lost in an eight-person tag team match alongside Ava and Joe Gacy to Andre Chase, Duke Hudson, Thea Hail, and Tyler Bate at Saturday’s WWE NXT Stand & Deliver event at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California.

As of this writing, it’s unclear why they’ve asked for their release, but the belief is they will address that shortly.

The tag team is expected to be in demand on the independent scene and would be a great hire for any promotion.

Reid and Fowler signed with WWE in 2018. They held the NXT UK Tag Team Titles once. They’ve been part of NXT for over three years, most recently being used as part of Schism.
