Departing WWE star was never factored into consistent or major creative plans after some supporters were let go

News broke on Wednesday that Sarray is leaving WWE soon as she will return to Japan on May 16. The last time she wrestled was last August on an episode of NXT in a loss to Mandy Rose.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported today that Sarray has bookings elsewhere and was told: “the beginning of the end was actually early in 2022, when many of her biggest supporters were let go from NXT.”

The report noted that they had been told by NXT sources that “she never factored into a consistent or major creative fashion after that.” By the spring of 2022, the writing was on the wall. One name mentioned was William Regal, whose “departure was one that many pointed to as a turning point.”

Sarray hadn’t been seen by those at the Performance Center in ages and weren’t given any answers regarding her status when they would ask about her. Still, it was “widely accepted within the company that the creative given to her was outright bad.”

The report stated that Sarray took great pride in helping Tiffany Stratton when they feuded and seemed to think a lot of the younger talent. Despite a language barrier, she had no issues dealing with anyone.
