FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wilder) were on an incredible run in 2022 as they held gold in AEW, ROH, AAA, and NJPW before going on hiatus.
Harwood previously stated that their current AEW contracts are slated to be up at the end of April, which would make them free agents. He noted that they had considered the idea of staying with AEW or going somewhere else, including working independent shows for a while and not being signed to one promotion.
Last month, Harwood had fans talking when he shared a photo in the bottom left corner with a piece of paper that looked like the WWE logo on it. He later cropped out most of the piece of paper in a post on Twitter.
AEW Tag Team Champions The Gunn Club retained their titles over The Acclaimed, Jeff Jarrett & Jay Lethal, and Orange Cassidy & Danhausen at the Revolution pay-per-view event on Sunday night. Post-match, FTR returned to AEW by laying out the champions, indicating their next feud.
Pwinsider.com reports the belief is that FTR is under long term deals with AEW, and their disappearance from AEW television and teasing going somewhere else was just part of the storyline.
