Jazzy Gabert talking about leaving WWE:

“So all my life I wanted, just like everybody else, I wanted to work for WWE. It was like my big time dream. I tried and I tried and they always said no. But then 2017, they invited me to the Mae Young Classic and it went amazing. I had two matches there. I had standing ovations. People were chanting for me, ‘Please sign Jazzy.’ That was like a lifetime moment. But unfortunately, my neck was really bad. So when they gave me a contract, you go there and have a full body checkup and I found out that I had an injured neck, and I had to do surgery on it. Then of course they took back the contract. Sorry, I’m German so my English is not that perfect.”

“I had surgery in 2018. I tried and asked again, so they said, ‘Okay, one more time we can try.’ So in 2019, they offered me a contract for WWE NXT UK. I went to the Performance Center in the UK and I kind of didn’t like it. Like there were a lot of issues. We don’t need to go into it again because there’s a lot of articles about that, like you just have a quick Google search and you find everything. It was a one year contract and after one year, they asked me, ‘Do you want to renew?’ I said, ‘I don’t want to renew it’, because I didn’t like it. I had other cool things going on, and not knowing that the pandemic is coming, I said, well, you know, there’s always like, if you end up in good terms, like if you say, hey, maybe I try something else, and maybe I come back later, it can be a good thing. So that was my idea, like just stop for a moment, take back and rebuild everything new, and then maybe come back, but yeah, everything turned out different. But at the end of the day, I’m happy with my decision. I’m happy with everything that turns out how it has to be because now I’m a successful promoter. If I would have been still with WWE, I would maybe just stand in the back somewhere in catering or something. I don’t know.”

On why she got turned down by WWE in her 2015 tryout:

William Regal and Robbie Brookside were at the tryout and they said no. Then when I was in NXT UK I asked him why it didn’t work back in the day. They said my promos were sh*t. I agree. They were sh*t. So it can be nothing or it can be big time and yeah, my promo was really bad. So I tried, you know, like, it’s so difficult. Sometimes they just look at you and say, ‘Okay, whatever, she doesn’t need to talk.’ I mean, I’m a big monster in the ring. I don’t talk anyways, I’m always like the bodyguard or something. I don’t need to talk. I don’t know. I think they just didn’t like me. Whatever.”
