Jeff Hardy’s DUI case in Florida from June 2022 was closed on Thursday after he had submitted a written plea of nolo contendere to all charges.
When arrested, he was charged with DUI (Alcohol or Drugs), third offense within ten years, driving while license canceled/suspended/revoked, and violation of restrictions placed on driver’s license.
He had been facing a felony charge for the DUI that is punishable by up to five years in prison, should Hardy have been convicted, while the others would fall under misdemeanors.
For the next decade, Hardy’s license will be suspended. He will also get 38 days credit for the time served in county jail as part of his sentence. The plea of nolo contendere is when someone agrees to accept punishment while not accepting or denying responsibility for whatever the charge is against them.
According to the Volusia County court records, Hardy will also have two years of probation, pay $4586 in fines and court fees, have two years with an interlock device and 90-day vehicle impoundment, go to a court-mandated DUI school or drug rehab program, and do Community service.
This comes after Hardy’s attorney previously filed a motion earlier this week to suppress the breath test results from his arrest as unreliable as they claimed the Intoxilyzer that was used was not inspected by the Florida Highway Patrol the month before Hardy tested with it and that violates a Florida Department of Law Enforcement rule that the equipment must be inspected every month.
Jeff has been off AEW TV since the arrest as he went to rehab as a requirement set by AEW President Tony Khan. It’s still unclear when or if AEW will bring him back.
