Former AEW Champion feels he wasn’t being valued by the company

Frankie Kazarian was pushed alongside Scorpio Sky and Christopher Daniels as part of SCU from the beginning of AEW in 2019. They were the first-ever Tag Team Champions, but after SCU split up in 2021, things changed for all three members of the group.

Scorpio Sky went on to become a two-time TNT Champion while Daniels shifted to a backstage role and Kazarian was used as a veteran to help out younger talent.

While appearing speaking with Eric Bischoff on a recent AdFreeShows Q&A show, Kaz spoke about leaving AEW for Impact Wrestling.

“I wanted to give that time to somebody that would value it. I felt at the time in AEW, my time, my contributions, and my talent was not being valued and that’s okay because I had the opportunity to take my time and give it to somebody else and that’s exactly what I did. I’m not a guy that’s wired to sit on the bench, you know? I’m a guy that should be in the starting lineup. It’s not being egotistical to say that because it’s true and I proved that.”

Kazarian returned to Impact at the Hard to Kill pay-per-view where he announced that he had signed with a promotion that he previously had a successful run with.
