WWE will be going to trial to fight a lawsuit filed by Jackson Parsons later this month.
The trial will begin on February 27 before Florida Middle District Court, according to court documents obtained by Pwinsider.com.
The lawsuit was first filed in June 2021, where it was alleged that on July 22, 2019, in Tampa, there was a van rented by WWE that was driven by a WWE employee, Gaitan Thomas, “who was on the job at the time,” and had an accident with Parsons, who was riding a bicycle.
Thomas is a props expert for WWE. The filings made by WWE described Thomas as “an independent contractor engaged” by the company.
It was indicated that Jackson underwent surgery for an injury to his ankle after the traffic incident, according to the documents.
Parsons claimed he has “suffered physical injuries, pain-and-suffering, disability and the inability and loss of the capacity to lead and enjoy normal life, inconvenience, disfigurement, scarring, and mental anguish.”
Persons noted that he will be dealing with permanent issues due to the accident and “suffered physical injuries, pain-and-suffering, disability and the inability and loss of the capacity to lead and enjoy a normal life, inconvenience, disfigurement, scarring and mental anguish,” and further asserts that his injuries and suffering are permanent, that he has incurred past medical expenses and will incur future medical expenses on account of the motor vehicle accident, and that he has also suffered “a loss of earnings and earning capacity, both in the past and in the future.”
Persons stated he had lost the quality of life he was looking for when he moved to Florida, and past medical expenses stemming from the accident are already $171,430.38. He also cited a loss of past and future earnings at $75,036.00–$100,048.00. He also projected his future medical expenses in the amount of $314,850.00.
Parsons wants $76,500.00 for pain and suffering, mental anguish and inconvenience, and $401,500 for future pain and suffering.
