WWE Recently Held Tryouts At The Performance Center.

WWE is looking to sign its next batch of talent for the Performance Center to see who can cut it and make it to NXT, where their careers will begin with hopes of making it to the main roster, whether that be on Raw or SmackDown.

WWE’s strategy to build the brand has changed several times over the years, as it was initially a traditional developmental brand before shifting to signing the top stars on the independent wrestling scene and other promotions such as TNA, ROH, and NJPW.

It then shifted towards the NXT 2.0 era, where they focused on signing athletes with no wrestling experience and training them. Now, they have a balanced roster of talent with experience, including those who come from a college background. They’ve also used more main roster talent to get young talent over.

PWInsider.com reports there was a WWE tryout of sorts this week at the Performance Center, where WWE mostly invited athletes from outside of the wrestling sphere.

It’s still unclear who attended, although details about who participated and signed by the company will come out in the coming weeks.
