Cody Rhodes took part in a media call alongside Triple H on Twitter on Wednesday to answer various questions ahead of his Undisputed WWE Championship defense against AJ Styles this Saturday at Backlash France.
During the end of his answer about who he wants to work with, he dropped another tease about finishing things with The Rock, something that is in the works after they teased on the post-WrestleMania edition of Raw.
WWE is reportedly hoping to do the match at WrestleMania 41 as long as Rock’s schedule with allow it.
“I don’t want to just leave it out there. I didn’t get any closure on the situation with The Rock, particularly with him giving me something back. That was something he should have kept and I feel that closure in wrestling. That’s one of the beautiful things about sports, entertainment, wrestling, and WWE. If you think that closure is going to happen, stay tuned. It might, but it might happen in a very different way. So I look forward to his return. I look forward to Gunther and I look forward to everybody who challenges us as we move forward, I had an impromptu match and Carmelo Hayes just the other day. I look forward to every challenge that comes amazing.”
