Friday’s WWE SmackDown Extended Impressive Hot Streak

WWE’s business has been on fire for the last year for several different reasons.

Those include the new booking direction under Triple H, the rally behind Cody Rhodes as a babyface, the continuation of The Bloodline storyline and the return of The Rock. WWE’s business metrics are up, whether that be television ratings, attendance, and profits.

WWE held the first night of this year’s Draft last Friday night with SmackDown from Cincinnati, OH Heritage Bank Center, where they drew 12,677 fans in attendance.

The show featured matches such as LWO (Dragon Lee & Rey Mysterio) (w/Carlito & Zelina Vega) vs. Legado del Fantasma (Angel & Berto), Cedric Alexander vs. Bron Breakker, Naomi vs. Tiffany Stratton in a WWE Women’s Title #1 Contendership Match, and WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes vs. Carmelo Hayes in a non-title match.

WrestleTix, which does a great job of tracking ticket sales for all pro wrestling events, noted this was the 10th consecutive sold-out show for SmackDown.
