Injuries are going to happen to all wrestlers at some point in their careers, with some being luckier than others.
Drew McIntyre is dealing with this right now, just weeks after WrestleMania XL, where McIntyre won a World Title in front of fans, something he didn’t achieve at WrestleMania 36 in 2020 when he dethroned Brock Lesnar for the WWE Title, and his second reign in the Thunderdome.
McIntyre beat Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in the opening bout of the second night. After being attacked by CM Punk, following him taunting the former WWE Champion, Damian Priest came out to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase and won the title.
McIntyre’s contract is still slated to expire soon with WWE, although many in WWE believe that he will stay with the company.
Fans may have noticed that McIntyre is wearing an elbow pad or sleeve on his right arm while working events, including Monday Night Raw and house shows this week.
Pwinsider reports that McIntyre suffered a “badly hyperextended elbow” in his WrestleMania match.
We wish him a speedy recovery.
