Philadelphia Sports Division Director Says City Would Be Thrilled To Host WWE WrestleMania Again

WWE WrestleMania XL earlier this month from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia was a major success for both the city and the company.

The weekend included Mania at the NFL stadium and SmackDown, NXT Stand & Deliver, Hall of Fame ceremony & Raw from the Wells Fargo Center while WWE World was set up at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. WrestleMania broke multiple records, including various metrics, such as attendance, ticket sales, merchandise sales, social media, and television viewership.

Now, Philadelphia would love to host WrestleMania again. Larry Needle, executive director of the organization’s PHL Sports division said so while doing an interview with Sports Business Journal.

“This is such a highly-coveted event that we know there’s a long line of cities clamoring to host, and that’s just the reality of an event of this magnitude. But needless to say, we would be thrilled to have WrestleMania back, and at the right time we will engage in those conversations with the WWE.”

As of this writing, WWE has yet to announce the date and location of WrestleMania 41 next year, although Minnesota has been considered the front-runner for months.
