The date and opponent for Jon Moxley’s IWGP Heavyweight Title defense has now been confirmed.
The top AEW star won the title from Tetsuya Naito to become IWGP World Heavyweight Champion for the very first time last Friday at the NJPW Windy City Riot amidst his AEW hiatus. That will change as he returns this week on Dynamite.
As a result of the title win, Moxley made history when he became the first star to hold the WWE, AEW, and NJPW world championships. Now, he will be working the upcoming Wrestling Dontaku 2024 event on May 4th.
This is where he will defend the title at the show that takes place at the Fukuoka International Center when he takes on House of Torture’s Ren Narita.
Also on tap for the show is IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion Nic Nemeth, defending his championship against NJPW President Hiroshi Tanahashi.
