The Rock & Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes & World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins took place at the WWE WrestleMania XL premium live event from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Rollins and Reigns started things off. Rhodes tagged in as they did basic moves such as headlocks. Cody and Seth put the boots to Rock in the corner then hit a back elbow to him. A brawl broke out with Cody and Reigns on the stage while Rock and Seth went into the crowd. The Rock told the referee that if he counted then he would be fired. Rock hit Seth with a trash can. Seth sold his knee that he had previously injured, but was working through it as they made their way back into the ring. The Rock beat down Seth for a few minutes. The Rock hit a low blow to Seth and the referee apologized to Cody because he couldn’t do anything about it. This was acknowledged on commentary. Cody slapped Rock, who had Seth in the sharpshooter, allowing Seth to hit a few kicks and the stomp. Cody and Reigns got the hot tags, leading to Rhodes making a fiery comeback. Cody cutter on Reigns for 2. Reigns with the superman punch for 2 on Cody. Reigns had a bloody nose. Cody avoided a spear with a roll up for 2 and hit a cutter then Seth, who blindly tagged in, with a frog splash for 2. Reigns reversed the stomp with a powerbomb to Rollins. Seth kicked him in the face to avoid a spear and Cody and Seth with dual superkicks. Seth with a stomp then Cody with the cross rhodes for 2 as Rock broke it up. Reigns with a low blow to Cody then hit a spear for a near fall. Reigns had Cody in a guillotine and Seth hit a stomp. Rock got the weight belt out, but ate some punches. Rock with a spinebuster, but Cody avoided the rock bottom. Cody went for cross rhodes, but Reigns hit superman punch. Seth saved Cody and Reigns accidentally speared Rock. Seth and Cody with dual pedigrees for the near fall. Seth with a dive from the top rope to the floor on Reigns. Rock went for a rock bottom on the announce table, but Cody reversed it and hit one of his own. Reigns speared Seth through the barricade. Reigns with a dive bye to Cody. Cody with several cross rhodes before Rock whipped Cody in the back with the belt. Reigns with a spear to Cody then Rock with a rock bottom and people’s elbow for the win.
It’s official, Reigns vs. Rhodes tomorrow night will be Bloodline rules.
