Roman Reigns To Take Time Off Following WWE WrestleMania 40?

WWE fans won’t have to wait much longer to see whether the dominant reign of Roman Reigns will come to an end as WrestleMania approaches.

The match

The Undisputed WWE Undisputed Champion teams with The Rock against Cody Rhodes & World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins in the WWE WrestleMania 40 headliner of Night One. Night Two will feature Reigns vs. Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title.

Although not confirmed, it’s expected Rhodes will go over to dethrone Reigns as champion, something he failed to do a year ago in the headliner of WrestleMania 39 – night 2.

Status

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer pointed out that while Reigns is not going to retire following the match despite fan speculation, due to his schedule, it’s likely he will take a break from WWE, something that was expected last year before plans changed.

Meltzer wrote, “I don’t think anyone believes Reigns would retire with a loss, and WWE has taught fans not to believe it, but given his schedule, it’s probable he’d take some time off. Given his limited schedule, one wouldn’t even expect him on a show again until the as yet unannounced next Saudi Arabia show (last word being on 5/25) and the 8/3 SummerSlam show in Cleveland.”
