Chris Jericho calls out HOOK

Our live coverage begins at 8 PM EST

Adam Copeland came out. He said there has been a lot of criticism online this week. I grew up watching WWF and a lot of other promotions because I love wrestling. When I started thinking about the end of my career, I realized that AEW is where I need to end my career. I looked at the roster and I see a murder’s row of talent. I have been in some of the most phenomenal locker rooms of all time and I will put this locker room up against anybody. This is the most fun I’ve had in my career. I celebrate AEW. I celebrate the men that started AEW and that means The Bucks, Kenny, Cody, and Tony Khan. Those guys are all fans of this just like me and all of you. That’s not something to make fun of. AEW pushed everyone into a better place and has given more people a chance to do what they love for a living. AEW makes pro wrestling better. Edge introduced Will Ospreay.

Will Ospreay vs Powerhouse Hobbs

Don Callis was on commentary. Ospreay countered a Spinebuster and gave Hobbs a DDT. Ospreay hit Hobbs with a Sky Twister Press and a Hidden Blade to pin him. After the match, Callis raised both men’s arms, but Hobbs pushed Callis and got in Ospreay’s face. Callis separated them before things escalated.
===Winner: Will Ospreay

Bryan Danielson vs Lance Archer

Danielson gave Archer the Busaiku knee which knocked Archer to his knees. Danielson went for a second one, but Archer caught him by the throat. Danielson kicked Archer three times in the head, gave him another Busaiku knee and pinned him.
===Winner: Bryan Danielson

Chris Jericho told HOOK that it’s true that anybody I’ve ever teamed with usually ends up in a fight. When you play the game at the highest level like I have, the rules are different. Once you understand that, you will understand what I’m trying to teach you. I’m not asking you to trust me 100% right now, but I’m asking you to believe in me as much as I believe in you right now. HOOK said I believe in you so much that I got us a match on Collision, but I’ll be keeping my eye on you. Jericho said I wouldn’t expect anything less. You’re learning already.

Backstage, Shane Taylor and Lee Moriarty said they will defeat Chris Jericho and HOOK on Collision.

Jay White vs Billy Gunn

They showed The Acclaimed laid out in the back towards the beginning of the match. Gunn brought a chair into the ring. The Gunns pleaded with Billy not to hit White with it. Billy pushed Austin Gunn aside. Billy was ready to use the chair on White, but White gave Billy a low blow. The referee called for the bell and it was announced Billy won by disqualification. The Gunns held Billy for Jay to hit him with the chair, but The Acclaimed ran down and brawled with The Gunns and White.

Willow Nightingale said she is going to defeat Julia Hart at AEW Dynasty for the TBS Championship. Mercedes Mone came out and told Willow I’m looking forward to your match against Julia because whoever is going to be the TBS Champion at Double or Nothing, I get next because in Vegas, money changes everything.

AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament Semifinal Match
Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) vs Best Friends (Orange Cassidy & Trent Beretta) (w/ Chuck Taylor & Trent’s mom Sue)

Beretta gave Matt a knee strike. Cassidy came off the top rope with a knee on Matt. Trent’s mom gave him a kiss on the cheek for inspiration. Matt catapulted Beretta into the exposed turnbuckle and pinned him. After the match Beretta hit Cassidy with a running knee.
===Winner: The Young Bucks

Mariah May (w/ Toni Storm & Luther) vs Thunder Rosa

May hit Rosa with a knee strike for a near fall. Rosa blocked the May Day and rolled up May for a two-count. May hit Rosa with a headbutt. Rosa gave May a backstabber and a Thunder Bomb to pin her.
===Winner: Thunder Rosa

Backstage, Penta El Zero Miedo challenged Adam Copeland to a match for the TNT Championship next week on Dynamite.

AEW Championship Contract Signing

Samoa Joe signed the contract. Joe told Swerve Strickland that he’s making a mistake signing this contract to face me. Swerve told Joe you’re a killer, but so am I. Swerve called Joe a b*tch and Joe shoved him. Swerve punched Joe and choked him with his chain. Joe headbutted Swerve to escape and grabbed the chain. Joe wrapped the chain around his fist and punched Swerve causing Swerve to bleed from the head. The officials came in to get Joe out of the ring. Swerve was laying on the ground and laughed. He told Joe I love this sh*t. If that’s all you got, then I’m taking the championship from you. Swerve rubbed the pen across his bloody forehead and signed the contract with it. Joe ran back in the ring and he gave Swerve an Uranage through the table to end the show.
