The questions regarding Jon Moxley’s AEW status continue to slowly be answered.

Fans have been wondering why Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli are not working on the vacant AEW Tag Team Title Tournament, but FTR is in it despite FTR putting over Moxley and Claudio at Revolution.
A previous update noted that no one in AEW was sure as to why they weren’t added to the tourney before it was reported Moxley is absent from AEW TV right now because he had planned time off ahead of time, and it was known the duo was not going to be available during the tournament.
Away from AEW, Moxley has bookings in Mexico next week in addition to his NJPW commitment. His match in Mexico was planned over a month ago.
Status
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Moxley has been banged up as of late.
Meltzer wrote regarding them not being in the tournament, “So they were taken out, but it’s actually for the better because they can be used to face the winners after the tournament and won’t have had a loss in the tournament and you need to have something for the winners.”
