Cody Rhodes hit back hard at The Rock with his promo on Monday’s episode of WWE Raw as many people in WWE and fans felt he needed to have the handcuffs taken off with this promo following Rock’s promo last week on SmackDown.

It should be noted that WWE’s recent memo to talent about them keeping PG language in promos is still in place.
Rhodes will team with World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins against The Rock & Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns on night 1 of WrestleMania 40 before Rhodes challenges Reigns for the title on the second night.
Callback
As seen below, Rhodes had callback lines in his Raw promo to a 2019 promo he did on Dynamite while feuding with Chris Jericho.
Rhodes called Rock a “carny succubus.” He also called Jericho that. Rhodes also said that both men think they’re more important than the current crop of talent and need them more than the younger wrestlers need the older guard.
